Emily Largent is the Emanuel and Robert Hart Assistant Professor Medical Ethics and Health Policy at the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine. Largent’s scholarly work focuses on ethical and regulatory oversight issues in human subjects research and in the translation of findings from research into care, with a particular focus on Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias.

Largent is co-leader of the Outreach, Recruitment, and Education Core of the Penn Alzheimer’s Disease Center and co-leader of the National Institute on Aging (NIA) IMPACT Collaboratory’s Ethics and Regulation Core. Largent is the recipient of a K01 from the NIA and a Greenwall Faculty Scholar in Bioethics.

Largent has a nursing degree from the University of Pennsylvania. After working as a cardiothoracic ICU nurse, Largent received her PhD in Health Policy from Harvard University and JD from Harvard Law School.
